Fort Pain – 1.27.21

It was SUICIDE-ARAMA day at #fort-pain!
17 Strong!  @Chowdah, @MaryAnne, @odouls, @Joey Freshwater, @Timeshare, @Foosball, @Ginsu, @Cosmo, @Jalisco, @Heidi, @Operation, @Peewee, @Lone Star, @Dipstick, @Dizzy Gillespie, @Fertile Myrtle, and QIC @Three’s Company
I attribute our large numbers to the fact that it was a little colder, so the threat of someone showing up in a Speedo was low.
We did 3 rounds of Suicide segments that consisted of the following format:
– starting line: 5 reps of named exercise
– MOT to first cone (each cone was spaced about 10 to 15 yards from the previous cone)
– 10 reps of named exercise
– MOT back to start
– Repeat above steps back and forth to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cone, increasing “cone” exercise reps by 10 each at each cone (i.e. 2nd cone = 20 reps, etc)
Suicide Round 1
Location: Crosswalk
Starting line exercise: 5 Burpees
MOT: Sprint
Cone Exercise (10,20,30,40): Merkins
Suicide Round 2
Location: field to the right at bottom of hill
Starting line exercise: 5 big boy sit-ups
MOT: bear crawl or lunge walk
Cone Exercise (10,20,30,40): American hammers
Suicide Round 3
Location: The hill
Starting line exercise: 5 no surrenders
MOT: HIM skips
Cone Exercise (10,20,30,40): Squats or jump squats.
In honor of the @Tiny Dancer iron mike challenge, we did 2 speed bumps (in between rounds) of 25 iron mikes each to get our 50 minimum in for the day.
– @Operation has #the-trapp Q tomorrow
– #csaup Cannonball run is March 6th. HCs are already rolling in!
– #the-ridge will be doing a 6 mile Ruck Saturday.

Prayer requests:
Quick recovery for @Pancreas from his back issues
@Timeshare – continued prayers for his friend battling prostate cancer.
Group is praying for @Hot Mic’s dad’s health

3 years ago this week I was let go from my job. Lots of reflection this week on how we think we are in control and have to do everything ourselves, when ultimately God is in control. This week actually has become a week of celebration for me. My job may be my current employer, but God is always my provider. So thankful that happened to me, and I’m thankful for all the trials that have come my way in life, because looking back they have always drawn me closer to Him.
James 1:2-4
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
We all have had trials in our lives and you may be going through a tough one right now. This group is here for you to lean on during those difficult times. Find someone in the group who may have been through what you are experiencing and reach out to them. We weren’t designed to handle everything on our own.
Way to get after it today guys. Was great to see some of the newer guys giving max effort!  Have a blessed day and thanks for letting me lead this morning.
