The Citadel – 11.15.21

13 HIMs won the morning during a frosty trip to the outer-reaches of The Citadel at dawn.
@Wiggums @Fuller @Tijuana @Aflac @Soul Glo @Foosball (3rdFQ) @Tiny Dancer @Corncob @Winger @Blackout @Operation @Fertile Myrtle
QiC: @Pancreas
YHC had been dreaming of this Q for quite some time, and was finally able to combine the unveiling of the BOX OF PAIN at The Citadel with the first trip to the hill at the corner of 31 and the west-bound offramp from I-65, where the American and POW-MIA flags stand tall.
But first: QiC led the F3 Mission, Principles, disclaimers and credo, along with the typical Pancreas Prancercise warm-ups. Then mosey to the hill, where the :skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones:BOX OF PAIN:skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones: was revealed and victims were randomly selected.
The Thang
Each card within the box contained an exercise and a Mode of Transportation. Each exercise was 50 reps for the PAX to perform OYO and then MOT up the hill to the flag. Perform SSH til the 6, then all back down the hill together for the next BOP card selection.
Sit Thru’s / Sprint
4-ct Moroccan Night Clubs / Crawl Bear
Side note: Crawl Bears for the win on steep hills!
Burpees / Lunge Walk
Derkins / Politician
Jump Squats / Broad Jumps
Apollo Ohnos / Bear Crawl

We took a few minutes for Mary at the top of the hill to get in some sunrise core work before pausing for a few glamour shots by the flags, then moseyed back to the cars for COT.

Recently I mentioned a principle from the book The Marriage Builder, by Larry Crabb. The principle is the choice we all have to make in marriage – but also any relationship or situation in life – between Manipulation and Ministry. If we’re honest, we often operate in our flesh and sinful nature from a place of Manipulation, in which we strive to serve ourselves. Rather, living in a place of Ministry means denying ourselves and placing others first.
I have been learning for many years to be aware of the ways that I frequently have a posture and attitude of “what’s in it for me”, either in marriage or my general approach to life. The lesson has been for me to approach the situation differently, in a couple of ways:
Stop asking, “what’s in it for me?” It’s the wrong question to ask and the wrong perspective to take – if we want to live a life of ministry and be made into the image of Christ.
You can ask the question, but understand that the right answer is: “Christ is what’s in it for me. Pleasing the Lord and living a life for His glory is what’s in it for me. Eternity is what’s in it for me.”

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
*Final thought, which I didn’t include in-person this morning. Remember that “what’s in it for me” may never be realized or recognized here on earth. Maybe your spouse, children, family members, coworkers, etc. may not acknowledge your service/ministry here on earth. But that’s not what matters most. What does matter is that God sees and knows your heart and motives, and there is truly a reward waiting for you in eternity with your Lord and Savior.
Always an honor, always rewarding, and always fun to lead you in the Gloom this morning. We all got better and stronger together. SYITG, Pancreas
