#1 Impromptu Tick story: ticks are just like sin.
My nephew had a tick crawling on him in the car that his mom hit off him, then they couldn’t find it. She researched how ticks behave and found that when they miss an opportunity they will hide and wait for the next opportune moment. When they got home they found the tick hiding underneath a floor mat in the car. Just like sin it waits for us when we are weak, tired, prideful, overconfident or alone. (Bonus) In Genesis God was warning Cain, who was angry at his brother Abel, that sin was waiting at the door for him. And it’s desire was for him, but he must master it.#2 Psalm 86:11-13
11
Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
[a]Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.
13
For great is Your mercy toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of [b]Sheol.

The “Unite my heart” means don’t let my heart have many allegiances. Let me have one allegiance, and that provides everything I need for all aspects of life.
