Turkey Path 2020 – 11.26.2020

TurkeyPath 2020, Thanksgiving morning, Preservation Park aka The TRAPP!!
18 HIM channeled their inner turkey and got stronger together.
@Heidi @Cosmo @Operation @Joey Freshwater @Glamour Shots @Foosball @ragdoll @Chowdah @Dizzy Gillespie @Three’s Company @shoota @jorts @shocker @KermiT @nimbus @sweatypalms @cheezewhiz @Pancreas YHC
@Cosmo led us in a solid warmarama and coupon Q in the dark. Somebody commented that there wasn’t much mumblechatter and it was true. Everyone must have still been waking up.
The PAX then charged up Sunrise Hill to take in the view at the top of the world. Beautiful setting up there!
At that point, YHC unveiled the BOX OF PAIN which contained instructions for two round trips on PeeWee’s Pain Camel. Ironically, neither @Peewee or @Bogo were in attendance, but we honored them. The hill climbs included 10 Prison Cell Merkin Burpees for each stop at Sunrise Hill and 20 Jump Squats for each stop at the gate on Water Tower Hill. Flutter Kicks till the six, then time for group pics with the sunrise before heading through the woods.
At the barn, @Joey Freshwater led the group in his ladder of burpees, Merkins, and squats, working from 10 down to 1. No gourds involved, but that’s another story.
We headed north on the path under 840 to the back of Indy 500. There we did a Pancreas leapfrog party (with no injuries!) and 3 sets of sprints on the paved runway. We also made sure to cheer on the Jeremy dad with the running stroller getting after it! We also encountered 3 old dudes who mysteriously kept pace with us all the way back to Gravel Hill.
Halfway point – headed back. Ran back to the barn for a speed bump of Apollo Ohnos, then continued southward with a F3SH favorite, Indigenous People’s Heritage run, followed by the same but in Bear Crawl MoT. Then moseyed to Gravel Hill.
@Dizzy Gillespie brought the pain with his combo of 5 bear crawls, 5 crawl bears, 5 crab jacks, RnR up the hill. Then clockwork Merkins until capping it off with a solid Politician to the top of Gravel Hill. The one time in life when backpedaling is encouraged!
We started the downhill toward home when YHC threw in one final hill climb up the backside of Sunrise Hill. Your legs and lungs will thank me later. Then we descended all the way down the Gravel Brick Road to the fences.
@Three’s Company led us in a very painful, 4-part suicide of:
Burpee Broad Jumps, sprint back
HIM skips, sprint back (other regions call these Skanks, but here in SH, they are HIM SKIPS!)
Bear Crawls, sprint back
Lunge walk, sprint back
Props to @Chowdah for giving @shoota a run for his money!
We finished TP20 with a TRAPP tradition of all-out sprint across the field to the parking lot. Well done, men!!!
@Lone Star had arrived for the final leg and was there to encourage us, take pics and video, and even supplied coffee for the group. Thank you brother!
Announcements
@Heidi will celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Fort Pain in March with a CSAUP: Cannonball Run. Be there!
Prayers
Various requests of physical healing, marital healing, grieving from deaths, and grace and strength for family issues with Thanksgiving and beyond. Traveling mercies for those traveling and recovery for those who are injured, sick, or discouraged. We brought these things before our mighty God who is sovereign and faithful!
Moleskin
While this is called a CSAUP, don’t miss the point. Be challenged physically. Be encouraged by your brothers. Support and build up your brothers. Build relationships and connect with other HIM. And above all, be reminded that our strength is not sufficient. Only the grace and strength of Jesus is sufficient. In our weakness, He is strong!
2020 has been a hard year for many. Yet, don’t wait for 2021 to arrive and dismiss opportunities for growth now. 2021 isn’t going to be magically better on Jan 1. 2021 starts in your heart now. Commit to making the best of things now. The grass isn’t greener on the other side. It’s greener where you water it.
Lastly, this is Thanksgiving. Be thankful. Cultivate two crucial qualities: gratitude (works inward) and empathy (works outward). Let’s all ask God to help us practice these today and every day!
Men, thank you for allowing me to lead. I’m so blessed by all of you and what F3 has brought into our lives. SYITG, Pancreas
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
