“The Crucible”
I wore my crucible t-shirt to highlight the message of the day
a ceramic or metal container in which metals or other substances may be melted or subjected to very high temperatures.
 a situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new.
“The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and a man is tested by his praise.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬
People from the Bible who were forged in the crucible:
Saul/Paul was blinded for days after seeing Jesus and was brought to repentance.  He was on his way to persecute Christians when Jesus had him enter the crucible.  When he exited the crucible and regained his sight he was a changed man.  He went on to boldly proclaim the faith in Jesus that he was previously trying to destroy.
David was a lowely shepherd and armor bearer who became great by standing up to a giant who was mocking God and his people.
Moses spent 40 years as a fugitive before becoming the leader of Israel and leading them out of Egypt
Jesus’ 11 apostles were forged through experiencing his life, crucifixion, burial, resurrection.
They all (except John) went on to become martyrs for boldly proclaiming the name of Jesus
We have an opportunity to be forged into something new this Saturday.  We will arrive, each as one man, but we will all be thrown into the fire together.  We will exit the fire together as changed men, as better men, as we are shaped and molded by each other’s strengths and as our weaknesses are melted away under the heat and pressure.
@Peewee (TRAPP) out!
