Prayer Requests:
@MapQuest: father-in-law (Ohio) health is not doing well.
@Chowdah – Community Outreach: M’s health as they try some new treatments to get her back healthy.
@2nd F Kwame: M’s grandpa has Covid. Then fell. Damage to hip, elbow and shoulder and talking about moving him to assisted living.
@Chowdah – Community Outreach – praise for his involvement with Roughnecks and the superior physical, mental and social benefits it affords. But seriously, we all echo this and are excited you decided to give it a try and look forward to many miles together.

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20
“19Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
Couple takeaways as I was reading this recently:
  1. Our bodies, like our finances, are on loan to us and we are to be good stewards of them. In 2022, as we set fitness goals, consider the fact that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and while He likely isn’t interested in how many miles we log, He is interested in you taking care of the body He’s trusted you with. This goes beyond just your physical fitness (King) and diet (queen). They may never appear on a goals sheet, but we should all likely take inventory of what is consumed by our eyes and ears as well and make efforts to advance in these areas.
  2. Rest. When you think about it, rest is the only thing God actually instructs us to do with our bodies. If you’re not in the habit of taking a sabbath, I’d encourage you to make that a goal in 2022. One day that is set aside for rest, not catching up on yard work, office work or the honey do list. Just a time to stop and reflect on your blessings, invest in your loved ones, and give thanks to the Giver of every perfect gift.
If you’ve yet to hit up the #2021and2022goals channel, I encourage you to do that for accountability. I plan to post as soon as my list is complete.
It’s was a pleasure to lead you men this morning and I look forward to all 2022 had in store for us individually and collectively as F3SH!—Offsides, out.
