Proving Grounds – 7.15.21

10 hard core PAX showed up this morning to Prove themselves at #ao-proving-grounds!
@Dizzy Gillespie @Three’s Company @Hot Mic @Jalisco @Veronica @Corncob @Soul Glo @Swipe @Operation
QIC @Heidi
Warmorama
Moseyed from the back parking lot to the newly-paved-still-off-limits front parking lot for a few squats, BACs, WMH, etc…
Thang 1:
Grit-Lab Challenge
The Q has missed out on a few #grit-lab sessions this month, so it’s time to catch up.
30 second on/30 second off of the following:
4 rounds of mountain climbers
4 rounds of high knees
Thang 2:
Mad Santa!
As I have let my beard grow out, my M and 2.0’s have commented on more than one occasion that I’m starting to look like Santa Clause. Well, Santa showed up at Proving Grounds this morning, and @Rudolph was missing, so he had to get someone else to pull his sleigh!
All PAX split into 2 groups, then number off and line up on one end of the parking lot.
2 PAX grab the tow straps and start pulling Heidi’s 4Runner across the parking lot.
2 other PAX ran to the creek and did 2 Prisoner Cell Merkin Burpees (PCMBs) in the creek, then returned to the group.
Everyone else did non-stop exercises called out by the Q. PAX then began rotating out PCMBs, towing, and non-stops of the following:
  • Big Boy Situps
  • American Hammers
  • SSHs
  • Squats
  • Big Boy Situps
  • Flutter Kicks
We had enough time for everyone to go through one full circuit of each exercise, then we moved on. (@Soul Glo was sad because he really wanted to pull the 4Runner some more.)
Thang 3:
Repeat of the Grit-Lab Challenge
30 second on/30 second off of the following:
4 rounds of mountain climbers
4 rounds of high knees
Thang 4:
Creek Work
@Operation  wanted to see the hidden path, so we moseyed that way.
5 Merkins in the creek as we crossed it, then when we reached the path we did 5 more Merkins
Back to the creek for 2 minutes of non-stop creek burpees, and mosey pack to the parking lot for time.

Moleskin:
I read an excerpt taken from Tony Dungy’s Uncommon Life devotional, which Amazon will not allow me to copy and paste.
Summary:
Colossians 4:5-6: Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Believe that every person is a special and sacred creation of God, and treat them as such. Treat people as Christ treats them, no matter who they are. Be a gracious and authentic person for Christ.
This is something I struggle with daily, especially at work. It’s a good reminder as we go into the day.
SYITG, Heidi
