Fort Pain – 12.09.2020

10 HIM strong this morning met at #fort-pain to see what @Three’s Company had cooked up. FNG in the house got us to DOUBLE DIGITS!   Little did Threes know that one of the biggest leadership challenges he would face this morning would be trying to keep the mumble chatter at bay…but as a dad of a female teenager and a preteen, he was well equipped for the task.

Lots of shots were fired at @Pancreas for his allegedly complicated rules for the week of core. I’ll have to admit, the DaVinci Code comment has had me grinning all day. QIC decided to shut the chatter down by doing everything in cadence. It worked for a few sets, then a few of the PAX just started repeating “ONE” instead of counting the reps, and snickering like children.  Just a small example of what I was up against this morning folks.
Thang 1: The Core of our American Heritage (Thought it would be a good idea to reward the PAX by letting them get ahead in the core competition just for showing up this morning):
-last person Lunge walk to the front while the line does flutter kicks. Go until each person did the lunge walk, then repeat, except:
-Bear crawl to the front while the line does American Hammers
-Lunge walk while the line does mountain climbers
-bear crawl while the line holds a plank
-lunge walk while the line does LBCs
Mosey to the bottom of the hill for Thang 2:
SSH Burpee apocalypse
10 SSH, 10 burpees…9 SSH, 9 Burpees…all the way down to 1.  Jump squats while waiting on the six.
This proved to be the most effective in reducing mumble chatter.  Even @Kwame was only able to drum up five or six wisecracks during this segment.
Mosey to the top of the hill for Thang 3:
10 burpees
20 big boy sit-ups
30 merkins
40 squats
Mosey down side hill
Bear crawl back up side hill
(Repeat until time was called)
A few minutes left for a mosey back to the starting point. Enough time for one more exercise.  Q delegated this to @Cosmo who picked failure to launch.
TIME!!
All in all, at least a flat 300 reps towards the core challenge for the whole PAX seems about right.
