Moleskin – It’s the beginning of the year, so bring on the resolutions and goals for 2022. I’ve done my goal planning, but struggled to get the engines running so far this year. I know where I want to go, but thus far have lacked the focus & intensity that I need to win.

At times in my life I’ve completely crushed goals and other times I’ve struggled like now. For me it all comes back to focus and to doing the little things to create those daily disciplines and systems. Although right now I just feel a lot of resistance.

All that being said, Proverbs 16:9 says, The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.  In my Bible Commentary it states The Lord sovereignly directs a mans steps. “Human beings can plan, but plans do not find success unless God so decrees it.

I believe that the Lord has given us gifts and has a plan for us all. I pray that I can give my resistance over to the Lord and do the little daily disciplines with focus & intensity.

I will still try to hit my goals, but I’m going to stop getting frustrated with myself and rely more on God than my measly efforts.

As an aside, yesterday afternoon I was throwing my 1 year old up in the air and fake dropping him. It made me realize something. He was having the time of his life when I let him go and gravity was doing it’s thing. He wasn’t worried that he was going to fall, because he trusted that his dad would catch him. So he just laughed, screeched and went with it.I pray that I can have that type of trust in my Heavenly Father. I’m on the ride of a life time. Through all the ups & downs I want to trust my father and enjoy the ride along the way!  Set goals do the little things, get out of the way & trust in my father.
