Moleskin:
I mentioned that music is a big hobby of mine and when listening to a new song by Elevation Worship called “Graves Into Gardens” which was released in 2020 the first verse reads:
“I searched the world,
But it couldn't fill me.
Man's empty praise
And treasures that fade
Are never enough”

Then looking at an old song called Be Thou My Vision from 1912, check out the third verse:
“Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise;
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and thou only first in my heart
High King of heaven, me treasure thou art.”

These songs are over 100 years apart but still talk about the same thing. We clearly have the tendency to crave the treasures and trappings of this world, such as wealth, possessions, and riches, but perhaps more dangerously is seeking the praise, approval, admiration of fellow man. So remember to keep our focus on the Lord who has blessed us with our belongings and responsibilities because they can all be taken away in a blink of an eye and we cannot take anything with us when we ultimately move on from this life on earth. Where is your treasure?
Honored to lead this morning and I encourage you all to lead well at home.
